Colonial Collectables are a family run numismatic dealership based in Auckland, New Zealand. Eastablished in 2012 by Richard Newton.
As a child growing up in England my passion for coin collecting was ignited by finding early coins in my parents change, before the introduction of decimalisation 100 plus year old coins were often to be found in our change.
With the help of a homemade metal detector I came across many interesting coins and artifacts which prompted my interest in history and coin collecting and research into numismatics from an early age, which stayed with me for a life time. I can remember trading coins as a child at school.
So it was no surprise in later life after a successful career in another field (no pun intended!) I returned to my first passion and Colonial collectables was born.

Initially we sold coins and banknotes of which we have an extensive and comprehensive stock, later adding tokens, medallions and medals. Our speciality is New Zealand coins and banknotes, we are also particularly strong in British coinage from early hammered issues to George V. Ancient coins are also covered with decent stocks of Roman silver and bronze. We have consistently provided quality numismatics to our thousands of worldwide clients.

Our aim has always been to provide a good variety of numismatics for all levels of collecting, representing reasonable value for money, we realize the vast choice collectors have today online and are determined to excel in our service to the customer.

New Zealand is a long way from everywhere, and this does affect our shipping times and costs, but rest assured all items are packaged professionally and dispatched quickly, coins can be combined to alleviate costs.
