Obverse: Helmeted head of Athena, decorated with griffon on bowl; in left field: E.

Reverse: Φ Α Ρ Σ, Thessalian cavalryman, to the right, wearing Boiotian helmet, chiton and chlamys, brandishing lagobolon above his head; below EΠI.

The ruins are the Acropolis walls at Pharsalos.

Grade: gVF.

Pharsalos was a significant city in Ancient Greece, located in southern Thessaly. It played a crucial role in various historical events, most notably as the site of the decisive Battle of Pharsalus in 48 BC, where Julius Caesar defeated Pompey the Great.
