New Zealand Trademen's Token.

Morrin & Co, Queens Street, Auckland.

One Penny 1858.

Obverse: Figure standing facing left holding scales and cornucopia. Two figures shaking hands in background.

Legend: ADVANCE AUCKLAND.

Reverse: Tree fern with lettering round outside.

Reads: MORRIN & Co. GROCERS, WINE & SPIRIT MERCHANTS - QUEEN STREET.

Catalogue: KM# Tn56.1, R382, A387.

Copper, 14.9g, 2mm thick, 34mm, plain edge.

Mint: Heaton & Sons, Birmingham, England.

Grade: gFine aVF.

Mr John C. Morrin arrived in Auckland from Sydney, Australia in 1855. Without delay he had opened his shop on Auckland's busy Queen street that same year.
