Maximinus was the first "barracks emperor" who rose through the ranks rather than from the senate.

Obverse: Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right.

Legend: MAXIMINVS PIVS AVG GERM (Supreme Commander Maximinus I, the dutiful emperor.)

Reverse: Providentia holding a staff over a globe and a cornucopia in the left arm.

Reverse legend: PROVIDENTIA AVG. (Providence of the emperor.)
