JULIA DOMNA.

Born at Emesa in Syria, she came to Rome as a young lady and in A.D. 173 was married to Septimus Severus as hid second wife.

Denarius A.D. 196-211, Struck under Septimius Severus, A D. 193-211.

Silver, 0.550, 3.38g, 20mm.

Obverse: Draped bust right.

IVLIA AVGVSTA.

Reverse: Hilaritas standing left, holding palm and cornucopia; child on either side.
