Obverse: Portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by R.D. Maklouf of England.

Reverse: Gold prospector heading towards "Gabriel's Gully" by Michael McHalick of Wellington.

Half troy ounce 24 carat (.9999) pure gold.

Finish: Frosted Proof. (tiny small red dot noticed on the obverse.)

Catalogue: KM#104a.

Diameter: 28.40mm.

Weight: 15.552 (gas).

Edge: Fully milled.

Mint: British Royal Mint, U.K.

Certificate of Authenticity Number 094.

The first big, rich gold strike in New Zealand was in 1861 at Gabriel's Gully. It brought gold seekers to New Zealand by the tens of thousands.
