Ceres, veiled and draped, seated left, on ornamental throne, holding grain stalks in right hand and transverre torch in left.
Bronze, 13.70g, 29mm.

Claudius was born in Lugdunun in 10 BC, A childhood attack of infantile paralysis left him with a grotesque appearance and was generally assumed that he was weak-minded, however he proved to be a very capable administrator.
In AD 43 he personally took part in the invasion of Britain.
