German Issue 5 Reichsmark, P.O.W.
Issued by Oberkommando der Wehrmact-the high command of the German military forces.
These notes were given to captured Allied Officers only in return for work and were the equivalent of pay in internment camps, which were used to buy what goods were made available by the German administration.
The notes were not negotiable outside the camp for which it was issued and were used in the camp stores and canteens.
Lagergeld translated means Camp money.
