Australia Commemorative Ten Dollars.

Issued to celebrate the Bicentenary 1988.

Obverse: Brown and green on multicolour underprint. Captain James Cook, OVD at upper left, colonists across background: Cook's ship Supply at lower right shoreline.

Reverse: Aboriginal youth, rock painting and ceremonial Morning star pole at center.

Printer: NPA, Polymer plastic.

Serial: AB 19944270 (1st issue), the first issue is identified by serial numbers contains 93, 94, or 96 as the 3rd and 4th numerals.

The Optically Variable Device or OVD is an image of Captain Cook surrounded by a clear area (top right corner on the obverse.) It is often severely cracked and the surface is dull and flat. 

The second printing has a glossy and uneven coating over the OVD to protect.

Signatures: Secretary to the Treasury  B.W. Fraser, and the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia R.A. Johnson.
