Probably New Zealand's most famous coin.

Description

New Zealand Crown 1935 (5 shillings).

Subject: Treaty of Waitangi in 1840.

Obverse: Crowned bust of King George V to the left.

Engraver: Percy Metcalfe.

Legend: GEORGE V KING EMPEROR.

Reverse: Crown above standing figures of Maori chief Tamati Waka Nene and the First governor of New Zealand Captain William Hobson of the Royal Navy, shaking hands.

Engraver: George James Berry.

Mintage: 660, Royal mint at Tower Hill in London.

Catalogue: KM# 6.

Silver, 0.500, 0.4546oz. ASW, 28.28g, 38.8mm.

Grade: PCGS MS64, British equivalent grade, Unc - Choice Unc.

The coin has an attractive tone, colour when held to the light on the obverse, my photos do not fully do the coin justice.
